How has your smart phone and technology impacted your life? What if we could explore this question together by temporarily fasting from these devices? How might our attention grow? Who might you connect with more fully? What might you learn? Most importantly, how might God encounter you anew? How may you use that extra time to focus and find more space for God? Let’s find out together this Lent by practicing a digital fast. We are recommending two different ways: A full fast or a modified one – you choose! Come to our Unified Adult Sunday School class on Sunday March 2 @9:45am in Fellowship Hall to find out more! Then join us back for Unified Sunday School during Lent (6 weeks, same time and place) for a deeper dive into our new SPACE!
Our Lenten sermon series will focus on what we might do with our “new found” time away from our Digital world…watch and see what God will do. The 40 days of Lent have always been a time of prayer and fasting in the church. Fasting creates a void in our lives that then allows enough space for God to deepen us. This fast is not about hating technology or flaunting our righteousness, it’s about yearning for the God in whom we live and move and have our being. Join us!
