Our Advent season is here! This Sunday, we celebrate Lessons & Carols at both services 8:30 & 11am with special music, musicians, and even an orchestra!
You do not want to miss either service so just attend BOTH!!
We light the second PURPLE candle of PEACE! As we prepare for the coming of Jesus, we remember that Jesus is our hope and our peace. Jesus brought about peace in the most unexpected ways when he arrived on earth. The Jews, particularly the zealots, wanted a rebellion. They wanted their Savior to overturn the oppressive rule of the Romans and bring about peace in a violent way. But Jesus had something else in mind. Jesus gives us inner peace. Because of his work on the cross, we receive peace through grace and salvation. We also have the peace of mind knowing God will heal this broken world and will come again. We are also reminded to have peace with others. We must put aside our differences and have the same purpose: to let others know about the peace of Christ. May we receive God’s light as we reflect on our scripture readings. Genesis 22:15-18; John 1:1-14
@8:30am Contemporary Worship in Lewis Hall: Our LCW Praise Band will have a mix of classic, country and contemporary Christmas music. Highlights are Tony Shaw & Caroline Forrester singing “The Manger,” Mia Mason singing “Mary, Did You Know?” and Jessica Settineri & Emma Blackwell singing “Love’s Coming Down.” First Kids is singing “O What a Special Night!”
@11am Traditional Service in our Sanctuary: From our music director Teresa de Fritas…We have several outstanding arrangements of favorite Christmas hymns and carols. Two of them feature our children singing. We also have a very special song by Elaine Hagenberg where we all together offer our hearts to the Christ-Child. AND…We have a full orchestra! Sam Kyzer, the conductor of the Lake Norman Orchestra will conduct us. We will have strings, woods, brass, timpani, handbells, and the choir. The musicians are both from Lake Norman Orchestra and the Salisbury symphony.

9:15-10am – Advent Gatherings in Fellowship Hall (Sisters in Christ and Mary & Martha are our hosts)
9:45am Sunday School for Youth and Children. Adults – check with your SS leaders.

Youth and First Kids this Week
Sunday, Dec 7: Youth Sunday School Pastor Josh from 9:45-10:30am in the HS room.
Sunday, Dec 7: Youth Christmas Party! Middle and High School together! Our Annual Youth Christmas Party. We’ll enjoy Mexican food, prizes, games, & more. The party will take place at First Pres from 5-6:30!
Wednesday, Dec 10: First Kids from 5:30-7pm, Supper and then Christmas Pageant Dress Rehearsal practice.
