Paul’s letter to the Galatian churches addresses an insidious threat to the gospel: teachers using scripture to unite the different races and faith traditions within the church. The problem, of course, was not the goal—unity—or the means—scripture—but the manner: Jewish Christians were essentially convincing gentile Christians to become Jews like them, thereby undermining the gospel and robbing the church of the gentiles’ unique contribution. Come join us as we study Paul’s passionate response to this threat and think about the implications for the different races and denominations of Christ’s body in Salisbury and the surrounding regions.

This Community Bible Study on Galatians will be taught by Dr. Bradley R. Trick and is open to the public. It will meet from 5:30–6:30pm on Thursdays, July 17 through August 21. The hosting church will be St John’s Lutheran Church in downtown Salisbury.
